Clinical Insight:

"Researchers believe that frankincense can prevent the release of leukotrienes, compounds that can cause inflammation. Terpenes, including boswellic acid, appear to be the strongest anti-inflammatory compounds in frankincense. In one 2014 study, oral and topical boswellic acid reduced cartilage loss and joint lining inflammation in osteoarthritis in mice. In humans, frankincense extract may help reduce symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis." - Healthline

"Research shows that frankincense naturally has many activities. For example, it is: Antimicrobial, Anti-inflammatory,
Pain-relieving (analgesic), and Anti-cancer. It can also affect the immune system in different ways. This property is known as immune-modulating. There's some evidence that it can help with infection and inflammation. It may stop your body from releasing chemicals that cause inflammation. For example, one study showed that its topical use could help with knee pain. Studies by doctors in countries around the world suggest that frankincense may help in the treatment of cancer. Specifically, boswellic acid might prevent cancer cells from spreading. Specific cancers frankincense may help fight are: Breast cancer, Prostate cancer, Pancreatic cancer, Skin cancer, and Colon cancer. But most studies have been done in cancer cells not in people with cancer. It's not clear if frankincense can help people with cancer. So, you should always talk to your doctor before trying anything new." - WebMD

Our Recommendation:

Frankincense oil can be used topically to reduce inflammation and pain associated with arthritis. It's best to dilute frankincense oil with a carrier oil before applying it to the skin. You can also use frankincense oil for aromatherapy by diffusing it or inhaling it. As a part of a regimen for pain and inflammation, I have utilized frankincense essential oil in a carrier base.

I recommend the NV Superfoods brand because it is a company that specializes in high-quality, certified organic superfoods like organic vegetable glycerin and essential oils. They focus on sourcing raw ingredients from people and places that prioritize preserving natural habitats, using regenerative practices, and conserving soil. ~ Josephine Sheppard, Natural Health Consultant

-
SOOTHES SKIN BLEMISHES & IRRITATIONS: To help improve elasticity in the skin, try adding this essential oil into your facial serums and oils. Add a few drops to your favorite carrier oil to use as a rejuvenating skin cream. Adding Frankincense into your skincare routine as an anti-aging treatment can help improve skin elasticity. We recommend a dilution of 1% for a facial application or 3-5% for body application.

HELPS RELAX WORKED MUSCLES & JOINTS: Frankincense is well known for its ability to help relieve aching muscles and joints when added to topical products. Add this essential oil to your favorite carrier oil for a soothing remedy that can help relieve the aching joint pain. Frankincense can help reduce inflammation. As a result, we recommend a maximum dilution of 3% for any topical application.

Clinical Insight:

"Tea tree oil comes from the leaves of the tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia). It grows in the swampy southeast Australian coast.
The tea tree was named by eighteenth century sailors, who made tea that smelled like nutmeg from the leaves of the tree. The chemicals in tea tree oil might kill bacteria, fungus, and mites, and reduce allergic skin reactions by decreasing swelling. People use tea tree oil for acne, toenail fungus, and athlete's foot. It's also used for dandruff, lice, bad breath, and other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support its other uses." - WebMD

Our Recommendation:

Tea tree oil, with its potent antimicrobial properties, offers a range of benefits for skin and overall health, including treating acne, fungal infections like athlete's foot and nail fungus, and even head lice. It also acts as an effective insect repellent and can be used for cleaning and deodorizing surfaces.
